There’s a new arrival at The Artea Room in Towcester — and it’s already drawing attention.

Our latest bake features soft chocolate sponge layered with chocolate buttercream and finished with classic chocolate orange segments on top. It’s indulgent, comforting and perfect with a proper cup of tea.

The Artea Room was delighted to welcome so many guests through the door on Valentine’s Day, with visitors joining us throughout the day for breakfast, lunch and our popular Valentine’s Day Afternoon Tea.

The tea room was bustling from morning through to the afternoon, creating a warm and lively atmosphere as couples, friends and families enjoyed time together over freshly prepared food and homemade sweet treats.

We might be a little late to the party today, but we simply couldn’t let Carrot Cake Day pass without celebrating one of our most loved cakes here at The Artea Room. In fact, we’ve decided that one day just isn’t enough — so we’re celebrating all week instead!

Carrot cake isn’t always on our counter, as we like to keep our cake selection changing to give customers plenty of choice each time they visit. However, this week we’re making carrot cake the star of the show, giving everyone the chance to enjoy a slice while it’s available.

There’s lots happening at The Artea Room in Potterspury, with new afternoon tea stands, guest WiFi now available, and the arrival of a brand new cake — The Artea Chocamel — alongside our much-loved favourites.

We’ve recently made a few changes to the layout at The Artea Room to help us better accommodate larger groups.

Thanks to a kind donation of a new table from one of our regular customers, we can now seat more groups of up to six people dining together. This gives us greater flexibility for friends, families and small celebrations who want to sit at the same table.

We’ve just wrapped up a lovely first day back at The Artea Room, and despite the very cold start to the day, it was great to welcome customers back through the door. There’s something special about reopening after a short break — the familiar routine, the buzz of the kitchen, and friendly faces settling in out of the cold with a hot drink.

The Artea Room has opened its doors for 2026 and welcomed its first customers of the year. Visit our independent tearoom in Potterspury for coffee, cake, lunches and afternoon tea in a warm, friendly setting. We're just a few miles from Towcester, just off the A5.

We’re sharing our Christmas opening hours so you can plan your visit to The Artea Room over the festive period. Our remaining opening times before Christmas are:

• Monday 22 December: closed

• Tuesday 23 December: 10am to 4pm

• Christmas Eve (Wednesday 24 December): 10am to 4pm

We’ll then re-open Saturday 3 December 2026.

What a truly special day we’ve had at The Artea Room.

We kicked things off with a magical Breakfast with Santa, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to The Rotary Club of Towcester for providing such a brilliant Santa and elf. They were fantastic, and it was wonderful to see just how much the children enjoyed meeting them.

Thanks to the wonderful team who played their part in our 1st anniversary celebrations.

Customers were entertained by Jazz the 2 Of Us, whilst enjoying lunch and drinks followed by complimentary deserts.

The Artea Room has launched its new Bauble Baguette festive special: a warm baguette with turkey, stuffing, pigs in blankets and cranberry sauce, served with chips, salad and coleslaw. Available from 2 December.
