Celebrations and special occasions at The Artea Room
Sometimes it's the little things that make a visit special
A birthday. An anniversary. A new baby. A long-overdue catch-up. Or simply an afternoon with someone who deserves a treat.
At The Artea Room, we know that sometimes you're not just booking a table.
You're celebrating something.
We're an independent tearoom in Potterspury, near Towcester and Milton Keynes, and one of the things we love most about being a small independent business is being able to add those little personal touches that can make someone's visit feel extra special.
If you tell us you're celebrating, we'll always do our best to make your visit one to remember.
Celebrating a birthday at The Artea Room
Birthdays are one of the most popular reasons people choose to celebrate with us.
We've welcomed everything from little birthday treats to milestone celebrations with friends and family – 18ths, 30ths, 40ths, 50ths, 60ths, 70ths, 80ths and beyond.
If we know someone is celebrating a birthday, you might find a little surprise waiting at the table.
Perhaps a balloon. Maybe a birthday message. Sometimes simply making sure we know whose special day it is.
They're small things, but we think they matter.
One recent guest who booked a table for her daughter's 30th birthday described the experience as:
"Well, what a wonderful place. Booked a table for my daughter’s 30th birthday. They reserved it and placed a courtesy balloon on it. All staff lovely and friendly and our food was delicious. 5 on excellence."*
That's exactly the sort of experience we want someone celebrating at The Artea Room to have.
Afternoon tea for a special occasion
There's something about afternoon tea that naturally feels like a celebration.
Beautifully plated up with sandwiches and savouries, warm scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream, cakes and sweet treats, and plenty of tea – all enjoyed without needing to rush anywhere.
Our afternoon teas are popular for birthdays, anniversaries, Mother's Day treats, baby showers and celebrations with friends and family.
Because afternoon tea is prepared especially for your booking, we ask for at least 48 hours' notice.
And if you're celebrating something, please tell us when you book.
Not every celebration needs to be a big one
We love the big birthdays, but some of our favourite occasions are the quieter ones.
Meeting a friend you haven't seen for months.
Taking Mum or Nan somewhere lovely for lunch.
Celebrating good news.
Saying thank you.
Treating someone who's had a difficult few weeks.
Or simply deciding that today deserves tea and cake.
You don't need a huge party or even an official occasion to make a memory.
Little touches from a little independent tearoom
We're not a large restaurant chain or a hotel.
We're a small independent tearoom, and we think that's part of what makes The Artea Room special.
Our team gets to know our regular customers. We notice birthdays. We hear the stories behind celebrations. And when we can add a thoughtful little touch, we will.
We can't promise exactly what that will be – and that's rather the point.
It's not an upgrade package or an optional extra on the bill.
It's simply something we like to do.
Celebrating with a group?
The Artea Room welcomes small groups for birthdays, baby showers, anniversaries, family gatherings and other special occasions.
If you're planning a larger get-together, please contact us before booking so we can talk about your plans and what we can accommodate.
For smaller private celebrations, you can also ask us about The Artea Attic.
Our private upstairs space accommodates up to 10 guests and is perfect for occasions where you'd like somewhere of your own to celebrate over afternoon tea.
Dietary requirements
Having different dietary requirements shouldn't mean somebody feels left out of a celebration.
Our afternoon tea menus include Regular, Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-free and Dairy-free options.
If anyone in your party has dietary requirements or allergies, please give us the details when booking so we can discuss what we can provide and prepare appropriately for your visit.
