A chilly but lovely first day back at The Artea Room ❄️☕
We’ve just wrapped up a lovely first day back at The Artea Room, and despite the very cold start to the day, it was great to welcome customers back through the door. There’s something special about reopening after a short break — the familiar routine, the buzz of the kitchen, and friendly faces settling in out of the cold with a hot drink.
The weather may have been freezing outside, but it was warm and welcoming inside, with plenty of good food going out and lots of positive feedback from customers throughout the day. Days like today remind us why we love running an independent café and being part of the local community.
One of the highlights of the day was the launch of our new breakfast omelette, which proved to be a real hit. It went down a treat with customers and has already earned its place as a firm favourite on the menu. It was closely followed in popularity by our all-day breakfast, which continues to be a go-to choice for many visitors, especially on a cold winter’s day.

As ever, our gammon ham, egg and chips also featured strongly, remaining one of our most popular and consistently ordered dishes. It’s always reassuring to see the classics continuing to be enjoyed, alongside newer additions to the menu. We take a lot of pride in serving generous portions, well-cooked food and familiar favourites that people can rely on.
It was lovely to see a mix of regulars and new faces popping in — some for breakfast, others for lunch, and a few simply stopping by to warm up with a cup of tea or coffee. With free parking on site and a relaxed setting at Wakefield Country Courtyard, many people choose to linger a little longer, which is exactly how we like it.
We’re pleased to say we’ll be open again tomorrow from 11am to 4pm, and we’d love to see you if you’re planning a visit. Whether you’re meeting friends, enjoying a quiet lunch, or treating yourself to something comforting on a cold day, you’ll always receive a friendly welcome.
