The Artea Attic & group bookings at The Artea Room
Private celebrations, afternoon tea and group bookings near Towcester
Planning a birthday, baby shower, family gathering, afternoon tea or get-together with friends?
At The Artea Room in Potterspury, we love welcoming groups both large and small.
For groups of up to 10 guests who would like their own private space, The Artea Attic is our cosy room upstairs.
For larger groups, we can also accommodate group bookings within the main tearoom and have welcomed parties considerably larger than 10 for afternoon tea, birthdays, celebrations and get-togethers.
We're an independent countryside tearoom at Wakefield Country Courtyard, around four miles from Towcester and within easy reach of Stony Stratford and Milton Keynes, with free on-site parking.
Whether there are six of you or considerably more, tell us what you're planning and we'll do our best to help.
The Artea Attic – your own private space
The Artea Attic is our private room on the first floor of The Artea Room.
It accommodates up to 10 guests and gives smaller groups somewhere completely separate from the main tearoom to enjoy their time together.
It's particularly lovely for:
private afternoon teas
birthdays and milestone celebrations
baby showers
anniversaries
family get-togethers
groups of friends
book clubs, craft groups and social groups
You'll still enjoy the food, tea and friendly service of The Artea Room downstairs – you simply have a little space of your own upstairs.
More than 10 guests? We welcome larger groups too
The Artea Attic isn't the limit on group bookings at The Artea Room.
We regularly welcome larger groups in our main tearoom and have accommodated parties considerably bigger than 10 people.
Depending on the size of your group, the date and what you'd like to do, we can arrange tables together and discuss the best way to accommodate your party.
This can work particularly well for larger birthday celebrations, family gatherings, group afternoon teas, clubs, societies and groups of friends who want to enjoy an occasion together.
If you're organising a larger group, please contact us rather than making several separate table bookings. That allows us to understand what you're planning and work out the best arrangement for everyone.
Group afternoon tea near Towcester
Afternoon tea is one of our most popular choices for group celebrations.
Our afternoon teas are prepared especially for your booking and include freshly prepared sandwiches and savouries, warm scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream, and a selection of cakes and sweet treats, accompanied by a choice from our extensive tea menu.
Smaller groups can enjoy afternoon tea privately in The Artea Attic, while larger afternoon tea parties can be accommodated in the main tearoom, subject to availability.
Afternoon tea requires at least 48 hours' advance booking, and for larger groups we'd always recommend getting in touch as early as possible.
Birthdays and milestone celebrations
We've celebrated quite a few birthdays at The Artea Room – from birthdays that deserve a little tea and cake to those big milestone occasions that deserve rather more fuss.
Whether you're arranging a 30th with friends, Mum's 70th, Dad's 80th or simply getting the whole family together, we'll help you find an arrangement that works for your group.
For up to 10 guests, you may prefer the privacy of The Artea Attic.
For larger birthday parties, we can discuss seating your group together in the main tearoom.
And because we're a small independent business, we love adding thoughtful little touches when we can.
If somebody is celebrating, tell us.
Baby showers at The Artea Room
Looking for somewhere for a baby shower near Towcester, Stony Stratford or Milton Keynes?
For an intimate baby shower of up to 10 guests, The Artea Attic provides a lovely private upstairs space, with afternoon tea making a natural centrepiece for the occasion.
For larger baby showers, talk to us about the options available within the main tearoom.
We can also discuss decorations and those little extra touches with you when you enquire.
Family gatherings and get-togethers
Not every group booking needs to be a formal celebration.
Sometimes you simply need somewhere that can accommodate everyone around the same tables.
We welcome family gatherings, reunions, groups of friends and social get-togethers, whether you're joining us for breakfast, lunch, tea and cake or afternoon tea.
Tell us roughly how many people you're bringing and what you have in mind and we'll talk through the options with you.
Clubs, societies and regular groups
The Artea Room can also provide a welcoming meeting place for clubs and social groups.
For smaller groups, The Artea Attic can provide a private space for up to 10 people and may suit book clubs, craft groups and other informal gatherings.
For larger clubs and societies, we can discuss whether the main tearoom can accommodate your group.
If you're looking for somewhere to meet regularly – weekly, monthly or just occasionally – please get in touch.
Those little Artea touches
One of the things we love about being a small independent tearoom is being able to make occasions feel personal.
If we know somebody is celebrating, we'll always do our best to add a thoughtful little touch where we can – perhaps a balloon, a decoration or simply making sure the team knows whose special day it is.
We don't sell these as celebration packages or paid-for upgrades, and we can't promise a particular surprise with every booking.
They're simply little things we like to do.
So if there's a special reason for your visit, make sure you tell us when you book.
Food for group bookings
Groups can enjoy food from our regular menu or book afternoon tea, depending on the size and nature of your booking.
For larger parties, we may ask you to make menu choices in advance. This helps our small kitchen prepare for your group while continuing to look after our other guests.
We'll explain any arrangements when we discuss your booking with you.
Dietary requirements and allergies
We want everyone in your group to be able to enjoy their visit.
Our afternoon tea menus include Regular, Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-free and Dairy-free options.
If members of your group have dietary requirements or allergies, please provide the details when making your booking so that we can discuss what we're able to provide and prepare appropriately.
For larger groups in particular, having this information in advance really helps our kitchen team.
If you don't eat one of the four sandwich fillings on your chosen menu, we'll happily replace it with an extra portion of one of the other sandwich fillings from that same menu.
If you have an allergy or dietary requirement, please let us know when booking and we'll do our best to accommodate you. Unfortunately, we're unable to offer bespoke sandwich selections or additional sandwich fillings.
Accessibility at The Artea Attic
The Artea Attic is on the first floor and is accessed by stairs. There is no lift.
Unfortunately, this means the Attic is not suitable for wheelchair users or guests who are unable to use stairs or would find using stairs difficult.
This doesn't necessarily mean we can't accommodate your group at The Artea Room.
If anyone in your party has accessibility requirements, please tell us when you enquire. We can discuss whether accommodating your group downstairs in the main tearoom would be a more suitable option.
