Our cake counter is full again at The Artea Room!
Now the weather has cooled down a little, there’s something we’ve been very excited to bring back at The Artea Room in Potterspury – a cake counter properly filled with some of our favourite cakes!
The warmer weather meant we kept our cake selection a little more limited, but with cooler days arriving, some familiar favourites have made their return. And, of course, somebody had to make sure they were still up to standard…
It’s a tough job being the #OfficialCakeTaster, but someone has to do it.
What cakes are back at The Artea Room?
Our cake counter changes regularly, but this week sees the return of four favourites:
Chrissy’s Coffee Cake – a proper coffee cake and a longstanding Artea Room favourite
Rhubarb and Ginger Cake – a lovely combination of fruity rhubarb with the warmth of ginger
Banoffee Cake – everything you’d expect from banoffee in cake form: sweet, indulgent and very difficult to resist
Toffee Apple Cake – one of the most popular cakes we serve and, unsurprisingly, one we’re always asked to bring back
We can confirm that all four have passed the Official Cake Taster test with flying colours!

The Artea Room is an independent tearoom at Wakefield Country Courtyard in Potterspury, Northamptonshire, conveniently located between Towcester and Milton Keynes.

Do you need to book for coffee and cake?
No. You don’t need to book if you’re simply joining us for a drink and a slice of cake.
Just come along, take a look at the cake counter and choose whichever one catches your eye. The difficult bit is deciding which cake to have.
Our full Afternoon Tea experience does require advance booking, but you’re very welcome to visit The Artea Room without a reservation for coffee, tea, cake or lunch.
