Monday at The Artea Room – a little refresh behind the scenes
Mondays are technically our day off. A chance to rest, recharge and maybe even sit still for five minutes.
That was the plan anyway.
When Joanne casually suggested we would just “pop over” to The Artea Room to do a few bits, I had a feeling this wasn’t going to be a quick visit. That suspicion was confirmed the moment the toolbox, multiple paint pots and a collection of brushes were carefully loaded into the car.
So off we went.
Sleeves rolled up, music on, and straight to work. What started as a few little jobs quickly turned into a full refresh session — cleaning, touching up, repainting, rearranging, and then… more painting. There is something strangely satisfying about giving a space the care and attention it deserves.
Here are the before pics!
Running The Artea Room is about much more than serving afternoon teas and breakfasts. It is about creating an atmosphere. A space that feels warm, welcoming and calm the moment you walk through the door. Somewhere you can meet friends, celebrate special occasions or simply enjoy a quiet coffee.
We are constantly looking at how we can improve, even in small ways. Fresh paint here, a tidy-up there, little touches that make a difference without you necessarily noticing why it feels better — it just does.
That is what Monday was about.
While the tearoom was closed to customers, it was far from quiet. There was laughter, plenty of hard work, and that lovely feeling at the end of the day when you step back and see everything looking bright, clean and refreshed.
We genuinely care about The Artea Room. It is not just a business to us. It is something we are building together, slowly and thoughtfully, and we want every visit to feel special.
We are really pleased with how everything looks.
If you have visited since our little refresh, we would love to know what you think. And if you are planning your next trip, we cannot wait to welcome you back.
See you soon.
