Why guests keep returning to The Artea Room

At The Artea Room, we believe the best recommendation comes from our guests.

Over the past few weeks, we've been incredibly grateful to receive another fantastic collection of five-star reviews from people who have visited us for afternoon tea, breakfast, lunch, weddings, birthdays and family celebrations.

Reading your kind words means the world to our team. Every review reminds us why we do what we do – creating a welcoming place where people can relax, celebrate and enjoy great food in beautiful surroundings.

Looking back over these recent reviews, a few themes stood out.

A warm welcome from the moment you arrive

One thing mentioned time and time again is the friendly, attentive service our team provides.

Whether you're joining us for a quick coffee, a leisurely lunch or a special celebration, we want every guest to feel genuinely welcomed.

Recent guests described our team as:

  • friendly and approachable

  • attentive and helpful

  • welcoming without being overbearing

  • polite and accommodating

  • flexible when organising special occasions

As one guest wrote:

"Nothing too much trouble for the staff, all very friendly and approachable."

Another commented:

"The service is equally as amazing... we felt so welcome."

Those are the comments that make us smile the most.

Afternoon tea that's worth celebrating

Afternoon tea continues to be one of our most popular experiences, and we're delighted that so many recent visitors have taken the time to tell us how much they enjoyed it.

Guests have described our afternoon tea as:

  • beautifully presented

  • plentiful and delicious

  • fresh and homemade

  • perfect for celebrations

  • something they'll happily recommend to family and friends

One recent guest celebrating a birthday wrote:

"Honestly couldn't have asked for a better afternoon tea experience."

Another described it as:

"A beautiful, quaint and charismatic tea room... Food was delicious and plenty of it."

Whether you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary, retirement or simply catching up with friends, our afternoon tea is designed to make the occasion feel special.

Looking after guests with dietary requirements

One review that particularly touched us came from a guest with coeliac disease.

She explained how her husband had carefully researched places where she could safely enjoy afternoon tea before choosing The Artea Room.

Our team explained there would be a short wait while her food was prepared separately after another table had finished ordering, helping to minimise the risk of cross contamination.

She wrote:

"I would always rather wait and know care was being taken in preparing my food."

We're incredibly grateful she recognised the care our team took.

If you have dietary requirements, allergies or food intolerances, please let us know when booking or ordering. We'll always do everything we reasonably can to accommodate your needs safely and carefully.

More than just afternoon tea

Although afternoon tea is what many people first discover us for, we're just as proud of our everyday menu.

Recent reviews highlighted:

  • freshly prepared breakfasts

  • generous lunches

  • homemade cakes

  • cream teas

  • paninis

  • ploughman's lunches

  • excellent coffee

Guests mentioned everything from our brie and bacon panini to our generous ploughman's lunches with thick-cut ham, quality cheese, fresh salad and homemade touches.

As one reviewer said:

"The food was absolutely incredible."

The perfect place for life's special moments

Over the past few weeks we've had the pleasure of hosting so many wonderful celebrations, including:

  • birthdays

  • afternoon tea parties

  • baby showers

  • intimate wedding receptions

  • family get-togethers

  • friends catching up

Our recent wedding reception reviews were particularly heartwarming.

One guest said:

"The Artea Room team hosted our wedding reception... They were superb."

Another wedding guest wrote:

"What a wonderful experience in a delightful setting."

Helping people celebrate life's milestones is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

A peaceful setting to relax

Many reviews also mention something that's difficult to describe until you've visited.

Guests regularly talk about our:

  • beautiful surroundings

  • relaxed atmosphere

  • peaceful courtyard setting

  • charming tea room

  • comfortable environment

One reviewer summed it up perfectly:

"It has such a calm and relaxed atmosphere."

That's exactly what we hope every guest experiences when they visit.
